It is the middle of the day in the middle of the week, I sit in a dimly lit bar drinking a vodka and soda reminiscing about a friend who died yesterday. Reading the rants I come across “pajama people riding the HSR” and I laugh out loud. Thanks.
This is in response to the person who wanted Hamilton to spend their money from their snow budget on Chapman. You must be nuts...in this city and many other places, there are graduates like myself that are looking for a full–time job in their fields. So what hamilton needs to do is spend money on ways to hire grads. They should maybe put more money into the innovation park on Longwood, not to some random person. And as for the $30,000 raise, it’s not mere. It’s large, especially for people like myself who work part time and have to work at least 1 and a half years to even make that kind of money.

My rant is about the Harvest Burger on King Street. Why are they ripping it down and building an A&W? We need Harvest Burger in Hamilton and it’s an excellent restaurant. I’m pissed.
I’m calling about secondhand smoke and the people complaining about it. If someone is in their car, they’re producing far more toxic fumes than somebody smoking a cigarette. Also, 30 years ago who would have ever thought that smoking would be this bad? What’s next? Drinking? In the next 30 years are they going to outlaw that?
To the dude who had comments about bisexuals. I’ve had relations with both men and women. I’m attracted to both men and women. So I describe myself as bisexual. Anyone that has an issue with that, feel free to suck my cock.
This rant is directed to the Hamiltonian who explained the canes and walkers to the Torontonian who moved here. I’m from Toronto. I moved to Hamilton 13 years ago. I don’t even visit that hole. My sister who is 21–years–old, got in an accident and is going to spend the rest of her life in a wheelchair, walker, or cane. I thank God every day that she’s living that life here in Hamilton and not in Toronto surrounded by those ignorant fucks.
What’s up with barbershop quartets? You don’t ever find them in the goddamn barbershop so why even bother existing if you’re not going to be in the barbershop when I’m getting my haircut? I don’t want to sit there awkwardly and listen to no music sung to me while I’m getting my hair cut. They should all have barbershop quartets. They need to exist.
I’d love to have some pride in this city. Every where I go people are throwing cigarette butts on the ground. We don’t want to think of ourselves as a trashy city but there are cigarette butts everywhere. Why can’t our politicians at least get us some stupid ashtrays to clean up this dump?
It just blows my mind that I can spend an endless time sorting, recycling, and green binning just to go into any restaurant in the city and see piles of garbage and no recycling. Containers are recyclable. Why do they use recyclable containers and not even have a fucking recycle bin? It drives me crazy!
This is for Glenn Gold. I really am very sorry but I think he has his history very much screwed up. First of all, the Americans and the Canadians were not even identities in during war of 1812. People were fighting for their own rights of property, so the indians were fighting for their rights of property, not for the flag of Canada. Secondly, to give money over and over again to the native people who are suffering in their reservations, I think if you really look at it, Mr. Gold, I think the money is going to the chieftains of those particular organizations and they are the ones that are supposed to look after the people on the reservations and they aren’t doing it. More money we give to them, I don’t see it being used for the general population of those reservations. So really I think more money in this situation will do nothing to help. Check out where that money is going before shouting your head off.
First, to the angry bi–phobic bigot from last week: it is absolutely not okay to hate people based on their sexual orientation, any more than it is okay to hate people based on their gender or race. If I ever hear you say something like that on the street, I’ll punch you in the fucking mouth. It’s not funny or entertaining, it’s a hate crime. I’ll let you decide how comfortable you feel being a bigot, bigot.
Second, to ViewMag: Somebody I love identifies as bi–sexual, and was really hurt and upset by this rant. You have editorial control and are therefore responsible for what appears in your magazine. The ranter had nothing interesting or valuable to say – they were merely parroting a common and comically inane point of view – and their idiotic comments must have hurt untold numbers of people already discriminated against and targeted by the dominant culture. I’m curious if this rant would have been printed if it had been directed at women or a particular racial minority.
